Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month
Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM) is celebrated in February. The U.S. Congress declared February as TDVAM in 2010. The first TDVAM was held in 2006 after Jennifer Ann Crecente, an 18-year-old Austin resident, was killed by her teen ex-boyfriend. Young people can learn the warning signs and develop healthy relationship skills to prevent dating violence.
